The collection and processing of personal data are necessary components of IOM’s commitment to facilitate migration movements, understand migration challenges, and respect the human dignity and well-being of migrants. IOM’s data protection policies are instituted to protect the interests of IOM beneficiaries, as well as the Organization itself. Data protection is paramount for the safe exchange, secure storage and confidential treatment of personal data.

IOM takes all reasonable and necessary precautions to preserve the confidentiality of personal data and the anonymity of data subjects. All personal data are be collected, used, transferred and stored securely in accordance with the IOM data protection principles.

IOM monitors general trends in the use of its websites.

IOM uses the information to generate statistics and measure the websites' activity in order to improve the usefulness of the websites. This information is never connected with any personal information you supply to IOM if you register for one of IOM's services, online orders or make a credit card payment.

If you are purchasing goods or services on the websites, you may be asked to provide your credit card details. These details are transferred to a secure online payment service provider, hosted outside IOM. IOM does not retain credit card information.

IOM does not share personal information with any third party, unless it is related to the provision of services such as purchasing a publication, completing a survey or making a donation.

IOM does not intend to either solicit or collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 years. Individuals under the age of 13, should not use or enter information on the websites.
